The sex scene happened on BBC One’s “Match of the Day” program on Tuesday night, host Gary Lineker was speaking when he was interrupted by “adult” sounds.
The moaning noises somewhat distracted Lineker when he introduced Alan Shearer, but he quickly regained his composure.
Alan Shearer is in the commentary gantry, he claimed. “I don’t know who’s making that noise,” he remarked.
It’s a little noisy, and I believe someone may be transmitting something on a phone.
Before Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ FA Cup game, there was a stoppage.
Throughout the match at the Molineux stadium, which was broadcast live by the BBC, the noises played continuously for a while.
Later, Lineker admitted that they originated from a cell phone that was taped to the back of his seat.
As far as sabotage goes, that was very amusing, he stated in a tweet beside a photo of the phone.
Sky News reports that the BBC has apologized and launched an inquiry into the incident.
“We apologize to any viewers who were upset during this evening’s live football program.
We are looking into how this occurred, according to a channel spokeswoman.
On social media, a video of the joke has amassed thousands of views.
The BBC has issued an official apology.
