Gamers Held a Funeral for Migos Rapper Takeoff on Grand Theft Auto

Heartbroken gamers have bid their final farewells to Migos rapper Takeoff by holding their own, heartfelt, digital funeral on Grand Theft Auto.

Rap and music fans are grieving after Migos’ member Quavo was killed by a stray bullet in Houston, Texas.

Kirshnik Khari Ball, better known as a member of the hip hop duo Migos along with his uncle Quavo and first cousin Offset, was shot approximately 2:30 a.m. at 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston.

Apparently, many Grand Theft Auto gamers came to give the artist a fitting (virtual) farewell after going through an emotional experience, as reported by VLADTV.

Players were warned that there would be no killing allowed at the event and that they would need a microphone in order to communicate with one another. The star’s real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball.

“We buried Takeoff tonight. Every single one of the three venues is open to fans. Everyone was white at the service, but black at the after-service celebration. At the house party, you should look your best “It was announced in a social media GTA alert.

Takeoff’s actual funeral, planned by his family and friends, will be held at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena on November 11. Seeing as how the Atlanta Hawks of the NBA call this place their home, it’s safe to assume that it has a capacity of more than twenty thousand.

GTA Online has developed into a full scale role playing platform over the years. Players from around the world can even hold jobs like flipping burgers at Burgetshot, or patrolling the streets as a police officer. The attention to detail of some of the hardcore role players is almost reminiscent of the super popular late 2000’s role playing game Second Life.

After hearing the news of the musician’s death, the rap community once again bemoaned the senseless shooting that has taken the lives of so many young celebrities.

Desiigner was among them; after hearing about his friend’s death, he broke down in tears and said, “I’m done.”

The rap star sobs and yells in an Instagram video he posted, “I’m a failure.” “Whence comes this madness? What is the point?”

Many people agreed with Desiigner, including journalist Jemele Hill, who tweeted: “Having been a college student at the time of Biggie and ‘Pac’s deaths, I remember thinking at the time that nothing like that could ever happen again.

“The frequency with which people are being murdered is now such that there is little time to grieve between incidents. Death to Takeoff.”
